My name is Svein Spanne. My Grand father had 3 brothers that migrated to the US. One of them moved to Seattle (accoding to records) His name in Norway was Helge Mandius Baardsen Spanne (born. 22.februar 1881 at Spanne close to the city of Haugesund). According to a death estate document (of one of his brothers who died in Marshall Town in Iowas in 1938). Helge died in Seattle in 1931. His brother Gudmund Andreas Baardsen Spanne changed his name to Goodman Andrew Benson. I therefore assume that Helge also changed his name to Benson. Glad if anyone could help with information about Helge.
