Fort Walla Walla Camp 3 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War
The Fort Walla Walla Camp 3 of the SUVCW will hold a Camp meeting (open to the public) on Saturday, Sep 20th 2025 at the Pasco Airport
in upper floor Conference room. Time: Gather at 11:30 to 12:30 for Ordered lunch and socialization. Food will be provided free (by the Camp) This will be as a pre-ordered selection of Pizza , salad or selected sandwiches plus provided drink.—Also must park in
Short Term parking and bring in parking stub for validation for free parking -(Since we are buying food).

Commander Peterson will open the Business meeting at 12:30 and then introduce the program at 1:00 with member Keith Deaton speaking on the Civil War
Presidency of Abe Lincoln-16th President. Interesting insights to be told. Open to members/Spouses and public visitors. Attendees encouraged to bring questions about the person or policies of Abe Lincoln. Meeting adjourning about 2:30 pm with option immediately after to go a mile away to the Pasco Aviation Museum- away from the terminal. A great add-on opportunity after adjournment to complete the afternoon. Parking is free at the Air museum. Fees are free to Veterans and about $5 for seniors. Brother Keith Deaton is a well known Lincoln authority and re-enactor in Washington State. He taught school as a teacher and administrator. He grew up in
Lind, Wa on a Farm and has just released a book on “Lind Coulee” of the life and times in his era. Books will be available for purchase at the meeting. Over the years his presentations have been viewed by thousands of people. A guaranteed great experience you do not want to miss..

Our open to the public meeting will be Jan 28, 2023 at 12:30 at VFW Post 1435 at 212 S. David St. Spokane Valley. Program speaker at 1:00 pm is Rudy Lopez director of the E. Washington Veterans Cemetery on interments, eligibility and research process. Some human interest stories will be shared. The Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, Fort Walla Walla Camp 3 will hold a quarterly meeting Nov 5 2022 at The Moses Lake Airport. Specifically, at the Ops Building on Lot 5 -a grassy tie down area–on Municipal Airport Rd. (at east boundary of the airport). The FWW SUVCW yellower banner will be displayed too. Any interested public is invited. Questions;

Set up of room at 11:30. Sack lunch and social time is from 12:00 to 12:30. Start of meeting at 12:30 pm.
Program will start at 1:00 pm with Hank Cramer III on an interesting Western battle of the Civil War. This is on the Battle of Picacho Peak, AZ. This is considered the western most battle of the Civil War. A skirmish between the Union’ California Column advancing East and the rear guard of Confederate forces who would eventually withdraw from Tucson, AZ into Texas.

to do this. Also, discussion of Jan 28, 2023 meeting and Of the four special events in March 7-12
with Dr. Curt Fields, an historian, coming as Gen. U.S. Grant re-enactor.

1:00 Commence program with Mike Inman a CW re-enactor as a surgeon on the medical procedures during the CW and how an out-break of diseases would be handled. Mike has been doing living history for 30 years. He has presented in many venues, and has done many talks for organizations. His primary interests have been in the 1850’s to 1900 era of America. His presentation includes many interesting medical too artifacts. This is an out-standing presentation.

All public invited. Mr. Jo N. Miles’ program will be on Kamiakin Country. The stories of the Yakima Valley in the mid 1850 s about hostilities between the Chiefs and Tribes and the US Army. From his book, Kamiakin Country. Books will be available for sale and signing.
Mr. Miles is from Richland, WA and now Yakima. He holds a degree from the University of Arizona and is a US Army veteran. He held a career in public administration, including 17 years on the Yakima Reservation. He is an expert researcher and writer on the early history of Washington Territory.
