Heritage Quest Research Library presents Cyndi Ingle

Navigating Your Way Through FamilySearch With
Cyndi Ingle (Cyndislist.com)
“FamilySearch is so much more than just a family tree hosting platform.  FamilySearch is a massive website that is made up of dozens and dozens of research tools. The site includes tools for learning and for reference.  It is home to the world’s largest digitized collection of records and sources for our research. And all of this is free for everyone to use.  We will explore each of the features that FamilySearch offers and we will hone in on how to dig through the site from a variety of entry points to find what we need.”

Happy Valentines Day!
We haven’t had much to cheer about lately, so we are very excited to let you know that we are now OPEN on Saturdays from 10 AM to 4 PM.

We are still required to social distance and wear face masks.  It makes for a great opportunity to browse the stacks alone.  Come in and see what’s new in our collection.

We’re also excited to share some news from our friends at Tacoma Pierce County Genealogical Society.  The Spring Seminar information is out and you can read all about it and register at
https://tpcgs.org/seminar.html

We hope to see you there!

Heritage Quest Research Library News

October is
Family History Month

Now that we have your attention, did you know that October is Family History Month?  Heritage Quest Research Library is here to assist you in the search for your own personal family history.  Do you have a “Brick Wall”?  Are you frustrated that you can’t access the records you need from home?  We can help!
HQRL is Family Search affiliate library.  While many of the Family History Centers for the LDS church are closed, we can access most of the records when you are in our facility.  Our library collection includes many of the books you previously could find only in a FHL location.
If you are a member of HQRL you can access the Library edition of Ancestry and My Heritage from the security of your own home.  Go to www.hqrl.com, click on the members page and log in to your account.  You will find the link to both there.
We hope you will take this opportunity to spend some time with your ancestors. Learning from the past can help us as we head into the future.

Please do not respond to this blog.  If you have questions or comments you may reach us at; research@hqrl.com or by calling us at 253-863-1806
